Filming Diary

Personally I think the last 2 filming days have been very successful as the shots look more effective, because of the lighting, particularly at the end of the song the lighting looks very powerful. As my shots are outside and at night, it is very difficult to do make-up and costume in a particular way, however I think I was more prepared this time as make-up and different costumes were all in the back of the car so I could re position my actresses in the right place and add the finishing touches to her hair and make-up once she was on set. I had already got which shots I was going to do from my story board. The story board was very useful, as I felt I knew what I was doing and when and where the shots had to be to get the best outcome. Every time I film, I think it is essential to have my song running in the background constantly so my actress can get into character easily, when to do certain movements and it also helps me to cut the shots that I need when editing my music video so it matches the beat and Chloe's lip sync matches up with the song timings. Therefore, I am hoping that these shots will be exactly as I wanted and look professional enough to be in my final music video. There was only 1 minor problem on the 13th January as it was very cold and some of the costumes my actress was wearing was dresses and jumpsuits, so when my actress got out of the car, I had to make sure the camera was set up ready and ready to go, but this didn't prevent me from getting everything filmed in the time I had.

Filming Day 3

My third day of filming was on the 19th January at the Baths Hall. I rang our local theatre to ask for permission if I could do some filming for my Alevel on stage to show the performance side of the video, and they kindly agreed to a certain date, when I could go in with Chloe to do some filming. The lighting technician was very helpful as he changed the lighting accordingly. Personally I think these shots look very professional, as the lighting we used cost up to £80,000 which is very expensive. The link below shows some of the images from the baths hall and shows me filming on the stage.

Filming day 2

I have organised the next film shoot to be on Tuesday 13th January, however my actress is ill so wont be able to make it. I have organised the next shoot to be Sunday 18th January, where I have arranged lighting and I have permission to film on an airfield in Hibaldstow. I have arranged my actress to arrive at 3 o'clock as I would like to film at dust.

Selection of location

I have visited 2 different types of tunnels/ bridges to allow me to chose the best one for my music video

The Bridge in Crowle

This shows a practice image of how I will portray a silhouette figure in my music video, this has helped me to decide what I need to change on the actual day of filming, For example the lighting.

This is a tunnel I visited in Epworth, which allows me to get the best location I could. However it was full of old equipment and blocks of wood, which I would need to move for my filming. This also doesn't allow me to have the correct lighting for my filming, which could potentially affect my music video as it wouldn't look professional. Below is an image of the tunnel I visited; it is very bad quality as it was very dark and not enough light.

Personally, I think the bridge in Crowle would be better for my video, as it allows better access of lighting and it adds a rustic/unique effect on the video
